TRAINING SEMINAR HELD
On 10–11 September 2026, a training seminar entitled “Strengthening the Capacity of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Tajikistan in Evidence-Based Labour Policy Development, Strategic Foresight and Effective Participation in Social Dialogue” was held within the framework of cooperation between the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Tajikistan and the International Labour Organization (ILO).
The seminar addressed pressing issues related to the development of the trade union movement, the protection of workers’ rights and interests, and the adaptation of trade unions to global changes in the world of work.
During the seminar, participants studied and discussed the following issues:
- Decisions adopted at the 114th Session of the International Labour Conference and international labour standards, including Convention No. 193 on decent work in the platform economy, the Resolution on Social Dialogue, and the Resolution on the Transformative Gender Equality Agenda in the World of Work;
- Trade unions, strategic foresight and social dialogue in a changing world of work;
- The use of labour market data and indicators in the development of trade union policies;
- Digitalisation, artificial intelligence and platform work: new challenges and opportunities for workers;
- Climate change, a just transition and the creation of green jobs;
- Responsible business conduct and the protection of labour rights in global supply chains;
- The role of international labour standards in advancing workers’ interests;
- Developing a long-term strategic vision and identifying the strategic priorities of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Tajikistan for 2027–2030.
Throughout the seminar, participants engaged in group exercises and interactive discussions to examine the key factors shaping labour market transformation, emerging risks and opportunities, and ways to strengthen the role of trade unions in protecting workers’ rights and interests.
The seminar aimed to enhance participants’ knowledge and skills, strengthen the capacity of trade unions, and identify further areas of cooperation in advancing the trade union movement.
