GREETING MESSAGE ON THE OCCASION OF THE DAY OF TRADE UNION ACTION FOR PEACE

 In accordance with the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On Public Holidays”, 1 September is annually celebrated, alongside professional holidays, as the Day of Trade Union Action for Peace.

On this occasion, I extend my sincere congratulations to all workers and trade union members across the country, including the members of trade unions in Sughd Region.

During the years of independence, under the constructive and far-sighted policies of the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, consistent and effective measures have been implemented to strengthen peace and stability, national unity, and the socio-economic development of the country, as well as to create decent working and living conditions for the people.

Peace, stability and national unity are among the greatest blessings for any society and constitute the foundation for progress and prosperity. Thanks to peace and unity, independent Tajikistan is steadily pursuing a path of constructive development and sustainable progress and is recognised internationally as a peace-loving, civilised and proactive nation.

Today, the honourable people of Tajikistan, living in an atmosphere of peace, tranquillity and political and social stability, and inspired by a strong sense of patriotism and national self-awareness, are making every effort to develop their homeland and strengthen the foundations of independence. We attribute the significant achievements of the independence period above all to the peaceful environment, social stability and national unity.

Trade unions, as an important institution of civil society, play a significant role in strengthening labour relations, protecting the legitimate rights and interests of workers, improving working and recreational conditions, and promoting the ideals of peace and friendship. Workers and trade union members, in solidarity with the working people, make a valuable contribution to the development of our beloved homeland through constructive determination and a strong spirit of dedication to work.

This year, the celebration of the Day of Trade Union Action for Peace coincides with the important historic occasion of the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan. This landmark date symbolises statehood, national self-awareness, peace and unity, and the great achievements of the Tajik people.

During these joyful days, as improvement and development activities are expanding throughout the country and the people are preparing with great patriotic spirit to celebrate the 35th anniversary of State Independence, the observance of the Day of Trade Union Action for Peace reflects respect for constructive human labour, the protection of workers’ rights and interests, and support for peace, tranquillity and mutual understanding.

With these noble aspirations, I sincerely congratulate all workers and trade union members, trade union activists, and all the honourable people of Sughd Region on the occasion of the Day of Trade Union Action for Peace. I wish them, above all, good health, peaceful and prosperous lives, family happiness, success in their work, constructive energy, and ever greater achievements in their professional activities.

May peace and unity in our beloved Tajikistan last forever, may the skies over our homeland always remain clear and serene, and may the lives of our people be filled with prosperity, blessings and happiness!
